Groovy Gothic

In October, 2018, I opened a new shop on Etsy called Groovy Gothic. I have big plans for my little GG, which means I need to devote more time to nurturing the wee devil in 2019. Of course, life only seems to get busier and busier, so in order to focus more on my biz, something’s gotta give…

I began blogging way back in May, 2011. I’ve had such a lot of fun with this blog, and more importantly, I’ve made some really dear pals along the way, but in recent years, the number of posts published here has dwindled to just occasional participation in blog parties. So, I’ve come to the decision that I will no longer be posting any new content here and will just let this blog function as an archive for my old posts from now on. I will keep any links in the sidebar updated though.

I hope to continue to be involved in some social media festivities via my Instagram account (@groovygothic), which is now the HQ for all my online activities. Fortunately, many of my fang-tastic friends are already on Insta, so for me, the shenanigans have simply switched venues.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2019!

  1. Although I'll miss your posts on here, blogging does take up a lot of precious time. I don't know about you, but it takes me daaays to compose a post, whereas a blurb on IG takes minutes! And when you check the stats, the number of readers just doesn't seem worth the effort, does it?

See you over on Insta and in your Etsy shop! Here's to a prosperous 2019, Emma! 🖤

    1. I guess we were the lucky ones to have experienced Blogland in its heyday, but it seems to be past its prime now, and the time involved in blogging has become an indulgence that I can't really afford. So, I guess it's onwards and upwards to Instaland!

Happy New Year, dearest Lynne! ♥ xo

  3. I understand your sentiments, Emma, as I hardly ever blog anymore ether. As the Insomniac put so well, I often put a lot of thought into the material I placed on my blog and well, only three or four people ever bothered to even comment. So like you, I participate in the Vampire's Day Soiree, do something for Halloween, and that's about it.

I do want to wish you well with your new enterprise and all of your future endeavors!

    1. Thank you so much, Nightwind!

I don't want to miss the Vampire's Day Soiree either, so I'll be popping by your blog for a visit on February 14. See you then!

  4. Blogging has changed so much. I miss the old days (does that make me sound old? lol). These days, Instagram and Facebook and such make a lot more sense for a lot of stuff. I shall continue stalking you wherever you go. May 2019 be glorious!

    1. Yes, blogging was fun in the old days... before all the other social media competition watered it down. I'll always be so grateful for the friends I've made... like you, dearest Lady M! May 2019 be glorious for you too! ♥ ♥ ♥

    1. Thank you so much, Holli! ♥ I do love my little bloggy but I'm finding I've got so much on my plate these days that I can't give it the attention it deserves.

I just found and followed you on Insta! See you in Instaland, lovely!

  8. I'll miss your blog Emma but wish you well with your new endeavors. I won't be able to catch you on Instagram as don't have a mobile phone but I'll hopefully see you around FB.

So many people seem to be going away from blogging now on to other social media and they do seem to make posting easier in many ways. I've been thinking of going the other way though and back to blogging. I've been seduced by FB for a few years but I miss blogs and I know it's daft given they are both on the internet yet somehow I still find blogs more personal. I'm a slow dinosaur and find other social media can move too fast for me at times.

Good luck where ever life takes you Emma. xx
