The Resurrection Blogfest

"I've been thinking. This year, instead of giving everything away, why don't we charge a little something?"

A cartoon by Charles "Chas" Addams.

Mina Lobo of Some Dark Romantic is hosting her second annual Resurrection Blogfest. Mina is celebrating her second year of blogging, so Happy Bloggiversary, Mina!

The idea behind the Resurrection Blogfest is to resurrect a post from the past twelve months and basically give it a second chance at life. I was having trouble deciding which post to raise from the dead and then I came across this Charles Addams cartoon [Tuesday, December 4, 2012]. Perhaps my sense of humour is a tad twisted but it never fails to make me laugh and it seems rather timely as we are once again hurtling at breakneck speed towards another Yuletide season. Where did 2013 go?

Head on over to Some Dark Romantic to see the list of other participants performing a little resuscitation on a past post.

  2. Your sense of humor is just perfect... at least for me! And what an awesome idea, both the party and the charging ;-D

    1. I used to pour over my dad's paperback collections of Charles Addams cartoons when I was little, so Mr Addams bears a considerable amount of responsibility for my sense of humour, Magaly! ;) Yes, Mina's idea for resurrecting a post is a great one. It's certainly the most leisurely blogfest I've done! Haha. And who can argue with charging a little something! ;D

    1. Which ones do you have linnea-maria? I've got some newer books on Charles Addams, but I've also got two vintage paperback collections of his cartoons: 'Nightcrawlers' and 'The Penguin Charles Addams'. They're my treasures! ❤ :D

I do love that illustration - I can see why you resurrected it, and at the perfect time too.
Have a lovely weekend Emma :)

    1. Yes, it was definitely a clever idea for a hop, Winter Moon! It didn't require a huge amount of work and choosing a post to resurrect turned out to be quite a fun trip down memory lane!

Hope you had a lovely weekend too! :)

  11. Hi Emma, I'm with you. I love everything Halloween and Addams Family. I wrote a whole blog post, not the one I resurrected about Morticia and Gomez being the first true paranormal romantic couple and how much they loved each other :) Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite holiday movie ;)

    Great post.

  14. Ha! I would have loved to have known Charles Addams, if only for the duration of a small chat. I would imagine it would be a chat which would stay ingrained in my memory for as l live! I agree, this year has gone by so quickly, I hardly even recall what I've been up to all year!

Just a quick question! Can you tell me if my latest post titled 'Changes!' has appeared in your reading list? I was messing around with my blog earlier and I fear I may have messed something up! By the way, It's Sandy from Arsenic and Old Lace! XD

Love your new name! Very you!! Yes, I can see your post on my reading list, so I hope everything is sorted out. Blogger can be pesky sometimes! ;)

  15. Dear Lady Emma.... My Friends were here earlier... they snapped a picture of my hallway... There is a clearly defined "Thing" standing there ...no one saw this at the time ...it was not until they looked on the phone that the image was seen... I have said that there is "Something" in this House...!!!... and now there is photographic proof...!!!
    What should I do...???

    1. I saw the photo, Dr. Theda! It's amazing! I think you should contact someone in the paranormal world and show them the photo. I'm sure an expert would be willing to help you after seeing evidence like that.
