Happy Halloween!

Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

My little cat Phoebe is all set for Halloween in the Lydia Deetz costume that I made for her.

Have a spooktacular Halloween everyone and I send my very best wishes to those affected by Superstorm Sandy!

  1. Happy Halloween to you to Emma! I love Phoebe's outfit - will you please make one for me? haha! Samhain morning has started out wild and windy here, very much setting the tone - brilliant! xo

    1. Happy Halloween, Siobhan!

Seriously, my cat is an angel to put up with all that tulle! Haha. It has been such a hot day today, but there's a cool change expected, so I'm hoping the weather will turn a little more Halloweenie this evening. Of course, I have to pretend that I don't see all the Spring blossoms outside and imagine Autumn leaves instead! ;)

  2. For some reason this makes me think of the Kitty Cat song.
    She looks beautiful though :)
    Happy Halloween!

    1. Hi Laury,

Ha! I had to look up the Kitty Cat song. I'd never heard of it before.

Thank you! Happy Halloween to you too! :)

  3. Phoebe actually looks quite comfortable in her lovely tulle get-up, unlike every cat I've known who would gladly plant some claw marks on me for dressing them up;). And she's oh so elegant on the striped chair:).

    1. Hi Pull Your Socks Up!

Yes, it's amazing what she'll put up with. Phoebe's not a biter/scratcher. I always say that she missed the memo that outlined her cat behaviour responsibilities. Haha. She's striking quite the pose, isn't she?! Happy Halloween!

    1. Hi Dex,

      Happy Halloween to you too!

Thank you! :) Phoebe gets handled so much that having to put up with the occasional dress-up indignities that I inflict upon her, doesn't seem to faze her.

  5. AAAAH! Look at little Lydia sitting on her Beetlejuice striped background! Love her hair. :) Phoebe has the perfect Lydia expression on her face too. I was actually just watching some episodes of the old Beetlejuice cartoon yesterday. Happy Halloween!

    1. Hi Justine,

Haha. I was dying to tell you about this, particularly as we were only just discussing 'Beetlejuice' on Twitter recently, but I wanted to keep it as a surprise. :) Thanks for noticing her "hair". That was definitely the hardest part. The tutu and the veil were relatively straightforward, but the hair required several prototypes before I was happy with it.

Yes, having a bubbly, cheerful expression was, fortunately, not a requirement for impersonating Lydia Deetz. Haha. I'd love to watch the old cartoon again. I wish they'd bring it out on DVD. I think the Blu-ray version of 'Beetlejuice' has a few of the cartoon episodes as extras. Happy Halloween to you too! :)

    1. Hi don,

Yes, cats are wonderful and even if your kitty doesn't like to play dress-ups, I'm sure she's got all sorts of awesome qualities! :) Happy Halloween!

    1. Aww... thanks, Maynard! I love that you love cats too! :) Yes, she is a little cutie-pie. I'll definitely pass on that hug. Phoebe likes to get hugs and smooches 24/7 and she'll definitely appreciate one all the way from Austria! ;)

Happy Halloween to you too! I had so much fun that I intend to stretch Halloween out for days! Haha. Hope you had a little Halloween fun as well!

    2. Oh, I love, love, love cats. They're the most fascinating, yet most adorable creatures on earth.

My idol Morrissey once said in a 2011 interview:
"The basic fascination I have with cats is nothing unusual. I find them very intelligent and very superior. And I feel entranced by them. If I see one in the street I feel immediately drawn to the cat. I have a friend, Chrissie Hynde, she’s exactly the same. You can be walking with her along the street, she sees a cat, she walks away. You continue to walk on, talking to no one. You look around and she’s crouched down with a cat in a hedge. I’m exactly the same way. I’m fascinated by them."
...and I'm exactly the same way! :)

Ha, a Hall-o-vember at the Yardis house :D
Yeah, was a pretty fun day including a super-creepy visit to the near-by cemetery, a badly dubbed Dracula (1931) and lots of wine in the local pub :)

    3. Oh, I feel just the same way about cats as you do, Maynard!

I didn't know that Morrissey and Chrissie Hynde were cat people! That just takes them both to a whole new level of awesomeness for me! :D

Haha. Yep, I'll keep going for as long as my current exhausted state of Halloween-delirium can carry me! Your Halloween sounds great in every way!!

  15. Oh that poor cat! LOL! I don't know about you, but I'm always a bit sad come November 2nd, which is when I take down the Halloween decorations for another year.

Happy Halloween chick. And here's to next year.
