The Winchester Boys Are Back!

Lucifer: "You know, I really think Prince William has found the right girl. What do you think?"

The seventh season of Supernatural picked up immediately where the sixth season ended, and having now watched the first two episodes, I have to say, it was an utterly spectacular start! (Warning: The following may contain spoilers.) If Castiel turning dark-side and declaring himself the new God wasn't enough, another Big Bad emerged in the form of the biblical demons, Leviathans. Even better, two of my favourite supporting characters, Death and Crowley, are back, as is Lucifer.

Season Seven has just dived headlong into the drama. By the end of the second episode, Bobby, Dean, and Sam are already in a seemingly hopeless position, and with Bobby's house destroyed, they've lost the series home base. Plus, today I discovered a delightful surprise. The upcoming 5th episode, wickedly titled, "Shut Up, Dr. Phil", guest stars, Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters. For those who don't know, that's Cordelia and Spike, respectively, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer... be still, my beating heart!

  1. I think you should get blogging about this series for those of us that do more blog reading than TV watching!!

I wanted to get into this series but when it first came out I watched the first season but barely remember. I know they have some cool creepy adventures.

  3. LOVE Supernatural! LOVE Dean Winchester and LOVE that "idjit" Bobby too! Sam is in big trouble this season I think. That pesky Lucifer just won't go away!!
This is probably the only series that I have watched since the beginning and haven't grown bored yet. Maybe it's just my crush on Dean that keeps me coming back...

  5. Oh, everyone likes these guys! A friend of mine is actually going to a Supernatural convention in a few weeks. She'll get to meet the guys and have some pictures taken with them. She even has her photo pose planned!

  6. Hi Lil Dreamer,

Now that the show is back on, I will definitely have more to say about it! I love 'Supernatural'.

    Hi Real Queen,

It really is a great show! It's often underrated because the actors are good-looking, but I think that's ridiculous because how often do you see an American show with ugly lead actors?! 'Supernatural' has a really strong mythology, and there's plenty of horror. I seriously wouldn't watch it if it was only about Jensen Ackles being pretty. Doesn't hurt though... haha!

    Hi Creepy Glowbugg,

I love that "idjit" Bobby, as well! I agree, Sam is in big trouble this season. It's shaping up to be very exciting!!

Everyone loves Dean, don't they? Haha!

    Hi Jenny,

Yeah, they always have great guest stars on 'Supernatural'! Robert Englund was so cool.

    Hi Justine,

I'm pretty sure that the actors from 'Supernatural' have appeared at conventions in Australia, but I've never found out about it until the conventions were over. I haven't ever been to a convention, but I'd definitely go if Castiel and the Winchester boys were going to be there.

I had a dream recently that I met John Astin at one of these conventions. I'd love that! Add Spike from Buffy (James Marsters), and I would be in my element!

  7. Actually, the friend who is going to the Supernatural convention met Spike at another convention last year! He looks much different now that he has dark brown hair.

I'm guessing that you're a big John Astin fan!

  8. Hi Justine,

Wow! I'm very envious of this friend of yours! James Marsters was brilliant as Spike!!

It's just that I love John Astin as Gomez Addams. It's no secret that I'm mad about 'The Addams Family', but sadly, John Astin is one of the only members of the adult cast still alive. I'd never really thought about seeing him anywhere until I had this random dream, but now that the idea is in my head, I hope it comes true. I'm sure Barbara Eden was here, not so long ago, for some kind of pop culture convention, so it wouldn't be unheard of, either.

So, if you're reading this, John Astin, please visit Australia for a convention!!!

  9. I attempted to have a Supernatural marathon a few months back. It went well for the most part, but I eventually gave up towards the end of the fifth season. Watching episodes back to back constantly was a chore, but I'd like to get back into the show somehow. I grew really attached to the characters.

Here are my reviews of the first couple of season if you're interested...

  12. Hi Miss Bobo,

Thank you! You are such a sweetheart!

Yes, things were already dire and dramatic when the new season began, and then suddenly the Leviathans were thrown into the mix. Can't wait to see what's coming next.
